I want to use Hiren's boot CD mini-xp to install the drivers for a new mobo that uses the original CPU and memory. The old board was an Asus M4A79T Deluxe that died... I ordered an Asus M5A97 LE R2.0. I thought I would boot into safe mode and remove the old mobo drivers and then install the new drivers from the new disk. It would not boot into safe mode. Apparently I would not be able to do what I had planned. I reasoned that I might be able to use the mini-xp program to just run the board install disk over top of the old board drivers.. but I would like some input from folks with more savvy than I possess. What say you ARS brethren? How far off base am I?
